They probably have way too many opportunities on the internet. If they put half the energy into doing something productive and legal that they put into scamming they would probably be way ahead of the game. Instead Attourney Yabadabado Mscammer needs to make you aware of the U.S. $10,000,000,000,000,000,000, million, bazillion, gazillion dollars that can be sent to you from A. a deceased official B. A deceased relative C. An oil companies accounts D. A lottery (you pick) for your just paying the taxes and transfer fees. He needs your help and for your minor effort you get to keep it.
If you want to lose your money (oops I mean invest) in a nigerian scam (oops again business) feel free. Why don't you just throw a huge block party and maybe make some business contacts which will actually pan out.

The problem with Nigeria right now is that they have an educated population but, they don't have any jobs there for these educated people. A lot of these educated people are very fluent in computers and seeing there are no jobs to be had they resort to using their computer skills for scamming people instead of doing good with their skills. It really isn't their fault though. Nigeria is a very corrupt nation in fact, it is known as the most corrupt nation in the world. Because of this fact, there is very little or no foreign investment there. What they do is if you are an American or European and you wanted to open up a business or a factory there you could easily. However, if your business became successful, the corrupt government comes in and takes over. They send troops there one day take you into custody and the business you worked so hard to start up there is quickly taken by the government. They make up some garbage legal issues against you. Like you haven't been paying the right amount of taxes or some other bogus charge they come up with. They threaten you with a prison sentence or to hand the business over to them. Well no one in their right mind is going to spend time in a Nigerian prison. And even if you went to prison they are still going to take over the company regardless. So it really a lose-lose situation for you. This is why nobody has businesses there. Because there is no incentive to be successful there. I hope this answers your question about Nigeria. Take care and good luck.

1) Most online businesses are scams so you may be lucky.
2) Many scammers are in Nigeria so Nigeria has a very very bad reputation online right now.

They have the same oppurtunity. They just prefer scams to legitimate businesses. Why do you care? If you are in Nigeria, I'm sure you can just go to the store. Some people still do that. Otherwise, I'm sure that you can find what you want elsewhere.

because they are well known for being the source of 70% of the world's online scams, in addition to their being a high degree of drug traffic and terrorism links in that country.
the country has been blacklisted by most debit and credit companies.

Maybe they're too busy trying to transfer $12 million into your savings account for safe keeping. Of course they'll give you 10% for your trouble....just give them your account information to confirm the transaction...
