Is it better if I leave my laptop pluged in all the time (when on), or unplug it and work off the battery.
Thanks!

With Lithium Ion batteries it is best to run down the battery regularly and than give it a good charge. That does not mean that you always need to run battery. Just once every couple of weeks will keep your battery well conditioned.

With modern Lithium ion batteries it doesn't really seem to matter all that much. The aging of the batteries starts from when they come out of the factory and depends pretty much only on temperature.

Though of course if your laptop tends to get hot and heat the battery up then you might be better off taking it out when it's plugged in and not charging.

Dischaging and recharging a LION technology battery will not increase the battery life.
