The thing is is Libby got his sentence commuted, not pardoned. The presidential Pardons are granted to people who served their time and successfully completed their sentence. Libby will get the best of both worlds. He won't have to serve his sentence and when Bush leaves office he'll grant him a pardon as well. So he gets a better deal than any one.
Also don't forget the pardons granted by Bushs father, former President George H.W. Bush, granted 74 in four years; former President Bill Clinton granted 396 in eight years; former President Ronald Reagan did 393 in eight; former President Jimmy Carter did 534 in four. And former President Richard Nixon, who got one of Mr. Ford's 382 pardons, granted 863
there is an interesting point that was brought up last week. this has totally created a fiasco in the courts. Scooter was supposed to have supervised release for two years, but that is something that people do after they have served prison time, so they either have to absolve that as well or create a new law to allow for it. Fun!

Scooter didn't get pardoned. His sentence was commuted and probation is doubtful because he didn't serve a sentence.
But this is an interesting link between Scooter and Marc Rich.
During hearings after Rich's pardon, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who had represented Rich from 1985 until the spring of 2000, denied that Rich had violated the tax laws, but criticized him for trading with Iran at a time when that country was holding U.S. hostages. In his letter to the New York Times, Bill Clinton explained why he pardoned Rich, noting that U.S. tax professors Bernard Wolfman of Harvard Law School and Martin Ginsburg of Georgetown University Law Center concluded that no crime was committed, and that the companies' tax reporting position was reasonable. [New York Times, February 18, 2001] In the same letter Clinton listed Libby as one of three "distinguished Republican lawyers" who supported Rich's pardon.

I have a separate question for you:
If Bill and Hillary Clinton are the slime of the earth, free of values, morals, etc. then why, oh why, do the rightys insist on using Bill Clinton as their moral compass? Why is anything Bush does okay as long as Clinton did something that can even vaguely be compared to it?
Every question on here about Bush is redirected to Clinton. Without fail. If Bush is so far above Clinton in your eyes, why fall back on Clinton's morals as a comparison?
Maybe obstructing justice is a bad thing and maybe George Bush has no ethical standing for reversing the punishment of a court of law, especially when the vice president is the beneficiary of said obstruction.
Maybe wrong is wrong, outside of Bush versus Clinton.

Her Husband fooled around a little and it Hurt Hillary.just Hillary . She Forgave him. Good For her. She has a kind and loving heart.
Libby did something that hurts US ALL ,at a Federal Level. and Bush is tapping him on the hand and telling him to go home.
How is that anywhere near the same thing?
EDIT: i've just been informed by the Writer of This Question ,via personal Email, That I am "Stupid". to Quote "wow are you stupid" , to be exact.
Apparently I read the question incorrectly .
Now that i have been so Pleasantly Made Aware of my Stupidity , I went back ,reread the question and, I certainly do see where I was mistaken.
Unfortunately, now that he was so volitile to me,and for No good reason ,except That he is able to hide behind his KeyBoard, i am going to Block Him.
He's Lucky I didn't Report him.
It's ppl that spout off in anger , instead of using this Forum as a Learning and OpinionSharing tool , that make Me worried for how Human Nature has Evolved.
I hope this Man Never gets involved in Politics..
He'd be ,like, "What? You misunderstood me? . WOW ,Are You Stupid!!" , and end up getting us all killed or something.
What a Lovely way to Behave. I wonder...
Did His Mother teach him to act like that?

I think everyone is missing the point of this question. Of course she is a hypocrite, EVERY POLITICIAN IS. They have to be in order to become president, or any other high ranked official. You have to play your party and have them back you. Then, you have to make concessions in order to pull votes from the other party. It has happened with every president and every party from the start of our country. Politicians aren't good people because our government structure doesn't allow them to be. Everyone is a hypocrite or flip-flopper at one time or another. If they didn't, they wouldn't be successful in politics. Good people don't make good politicians......Hope this helps....

The fact is President Bush PARDONED a person that was involved in a case he was COMPLICIT in !!!!
Thats like the judge letting his buddy skate on a crime that he and his buddy committed
If you think thats fair, just, or makes any judicial sense,
then, the firing of Attorneys that will not persecute people because they have different opinions than the President, would suit you fine too.
Thank God Bush wasn't President when Bobby Kennedy was killed or Sirhan Sirhan would have been freed too !!!

Yup!
BTW, Bush didn't even pardon Scooter he just commuted his sentence. That means the conviction still stands and he still has to pay the fine, he just gets probabtion instead of jail.

No, it makes her smart. She knows that she can get political capital from her liberal base by blasting anything Bush does. This is the name of the game. She ignors any other facts of the past and does not address them...have ou not noticed.
Can you say President Hillary Clinton, please.........LOL

Yes. Unfortunately, this is politics in todays time. We need someone in office who really wants to help our country and not just their idea of what we need.
