I think that we should all try to overcome our fears and try everything at least once. She says she really just doesn't want to get sick she thinks it will make her vomit. That doesnt happen to me. Does it happen to you? The Shiekra is AWESOME it is at Busch Gardens Tampa.

So I figured take her on the scariest one first and then she would be willing to go on the others. If she goes on a small one and doesnt like it then She will never go again.

im the same way, except im not afraid of throwing up. its the feeling of falling gets to be too much for me. i suggest going on a lot of small ones first, because then your body gets used to the feeling and then you can handle the bigger ones.

If your friend is at all afraid, Shiekra is not a good first coaster for her. This is a floorless coaster that features 90 degree drops. Like just about everyone else has said, start her out on a smaller ride, let her "warm up" to Shiekra if she wants to. If you force her on Shiekra and she doesn't like it, she will probally not want to ride anything in the future. I know a few people who are afraid of rollercoasters who are afraid because they were dragged or forced on a ride earlier in life.
Is she prone to motion sickness? If so she has a good reason. However, there are motion sickness medicines called dremamine or Bonine if she has this problem.
Also, some people do not like the feeling of a rollercoaster (heights, falling, out of control feeling, ect). This can be thrilling and fun for some, while others will always be deeply terrified of it. It depends on the individual's personality.
If you start her out small, you have a better chance of her riding rides with you in the future.

Go on a smaller on first and work up to that one. Shiekra is an awsome ride but not a good first coaster.

I've never been on it, but like most other people said start her off small & make sure she can go on it medically. Going on even the small ones with her eyes closed shouldn't be bad. Also if she's not up to going on it now eventually there might be a time she will. It took me a while to go on some of the bigger coasters at Six Flags & just recently I went on the free-fall one. It took my 7 yr old son to get me on it but I know it's not really my thing now. Also if she tries any coaster once then she'll be able to see what ones she really likes & what ones she doen't like. Just please don't force her. Thanks.

Start off with something smaller maybe - Sheikra is pretty intense for a veteran, let alone a beginner! I have the exact same problem with my sister - she thinks that it'll be awful, and so refuses to even look at a coaster that involves being upside-down or any large drops. I'll be interested in the suggestions!

what you want to do is ask why she is so scared then tell your friend that they should try it once and if they need to close their eyes the first time through then see how scared she was and if she liked it then see if she will do it again if not go to the smaller rides and let her get comfortable take her on the small one a few times and see if she is ready to do the big coasters if not give it some time or maybe see if she wants to see if she wants to do it again with her eyes closed then she will probably warm up to it and and ride for fun one good thing to do is to tell her its ok and i know you can do this and if you have to walk her trough it.

I have a fear of heights, so it was hard for me to go on roller coasters. I went on this little tiny one and I was terrified.
Here's what I did (all at Cedar Point)
First I went on the Jr. Gemini. Then I was just scared :P.
So quite a bit later, I went on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Disaster Transport, and Iron Dragon. I was quite a bit older now (around 11 probably) so they weren't nearly as scary as my first roller coaster experience.
Eventually I built my way up to the Gemini (125 ft).
And after that, I got up the courage to go on the Raptor, which was surprisingly fun (hanging coaster 137 ft).
So at this point I was going on semi-large coasters, but not the huge ones.
But then one day I went to Cedar Point with my friends. I basically forced myself to go on the Millennium Force and I'm very glad I did. It's one of the most fun things I've ever done. It's 310 ft high and I'm afraid of heights, but the fear is gone as soon as the first hill is over. The worst part for me is going up the hill, and after that it's just fun.
So really, they just need to overcome their fear and just start with the kind of small ones, and after they get a feel for it, put them on a huge one, if they don't like it they won't ride it anymore but they know they aren't missing out.
Thanks for listening to my life story.

Is that the ride at Busch Gardens Africa???? If it is, I have no clue how to get her on it. Maybe you can tell her it is not scary at all when you go up, there was no accidents ever, and the ride is not scary, but totally fun. Thats the only ways I can think of, but remember u cant forcer her!

I don't know what that ride is (besides a roller coaster) but it sounds hecka scary. Start her off on small ones. I hated them also, I started off on small tiny ones (like that have for kids) and worked my way up. Now, next time I go to California Adventures I'm going on the roller coaster there...maybe :P

before you try and get your friend onto the coaster. make sure, she isn't in fear because of fainting spells. most people cant go up to high because of headacks/dizzyness always falling out after a ride. most of them not knowing they may have seiures. let her check it out first. never force anyone to do anything more then what they can or will do. anything more is too much. ..... a dare.
