I tend to act the way others may perceive me...so sometimes if I get flustered, it's hard for me to concentrate and do well on certain tasks. Any tips on keeping your head in the game?

Hello Reisling, it sounds cliche, but its true... recognizing that is is something you want to improve on is half the battle. I can think of a few things that might help... you need to identify some safety nets to fall back on in these times... something like rembering to always have a glass of water on hand when you are doing public speaking, a presentation at work or in a interview. Having a lucky charm in your pocket when you are in a nervous situation that you can touch will help you maintain a sense of security. Walking thru a situatin in your head or even role playing with a friend can help... practice makes perfect. Say there is this guy you see in the elevator every day and want to say something, but can't work up the right approach... practice it with a buddy and see if that helps you build some confidence. Deep breathes are always helpful in times of stress. As fo concentrating and focsing... a good night sleep, a good breakfast and not procrastinating all help one be more focues and looking and feeling more preparted.. .you are young still, these will come with time and experience.

I agree just be yourself. There is no reason to be all things to all people, just be honest and be yourself. :)
