OK I kinda see where your coming from! Lets suppsoe they were close to the room as they say- parents have had kids taken from their house without knowing so they probably thought they were close enough to keep an eye out but why would they leave the doors open? They are a family and when they decided to become parents they made the commitment to them! They are responsible for them and unfortunately they didnt fulfil their duties!! I am sure they do feel extremely guilty and that guilt will live with them forever whether they find her or not and they dont need others judging but if we didnt then people would think its natural and OK to leave young children alone in a foreign country with the doors open!!! Unfortunately for them they have had to learn the hard way that, that was irresponsible and hopefully they have learnt from it- its just sad that due to their negligence poor Maddie is no where to be seen!!

I dont think we should blame them, they clearly thought the resort was safe or they wouldn't have left their children who they love dearly. The hotel is know for being safe, and in Portugal it is extremely safe for children as all the locals love children and so abduction is so rare, it never happened til now. I dont think we should blame them, my parents used to leave me and my sister when we were little on our own in Greece whilst they went for a meal, and we are both still here safe and well! The Mccans have learnt their lesson in the worst possible way, but it was not all their fault in my opinion.

They wouldnt leave their kids at home on their own without getting a babysitter so why would they do that abroad? They broke a british law im not sure about the law about leaving toddlers alone over there but responsible adults just dont do things like that when having a family holiday with small kids. Please hope they find their little girl. They've suffered enough.

I just can't understand why they didn't hire a babysitter - the resort offers this facility -can you imagine if a teenage single mum had left her children alone while she went out for the night what the response by the newspapers would have been?

They knew they shouldnt leave her alone. Or why would they keep going to check on her? Would you leave your children alone? Even for half an hour? The answer must always be .. NO.

i think people are too tough on them they made a mistake which has cost them dearly and i think that's punishment enough to lose a child so people should not ridicule them.

Just shows you mentality of people, you'd think they'd been taken to court and found guilty of some heinous crime, yet they've been charged with nothing!
