football is a game in which you hit the ball with your foot while cricket is a sport where you hit the ball with a bat and the rules are different. Cricket is a more technical sport

football you kick the ball with your feet
cricket you score by making runs
and get out by been caugh or run out or bowled
football you score by getting the ball in the goal

And, in cricket players hit it with bat.
some players like matthew hayden, gilchrist , dhoni , kallis.
all hard-hitters hit cricket ball as they r hitting football.
