It's the politics of fear, unfortantly it helps decide elections...
I don't think the majority of Americans even know where excatly the person they vote stands on issues..
Remember we live in the same country that enslaved people for almost 100 years and didn't give non whites/women equal rights for about the first 150 year of our existence...
People fear those who are differnt from them, therefore they attack Obama for being black and having a islamic based name, just like people attack Hillary beceause she is a women and Romney because he is Morman.
..sad isn't it?

It's a sad epithet that people would rather just 'bash' instead of being educated on issues and positions. However, it takes work to think, and our society is lulled too much by right and left wing extremists that turn an issue into a sound bite. Notice how many will quote 2-3 words as their position. Is there ANY national issue that can be reduced to something that small? I don't think so.
I for one, will be self educated on issues. I'm happy to join your 'educate the masses' party!

I agree with you - people treat those who disagree with them with no respect at all. Our country was founded on freedom of thought and speech... everyone has the right to express their opinions when done with civility.
My family is an interesting example - I was raised by a conservative father and a liberal mother who have been happily married for almost 40 years. My dad's views made more sense to me, and I am generally conservative, while my mom's views made more sense to my sister who is liberal. You can imagine how interesting dinner conversation was! The only rule was that we treat each other with respect and realize that everyone has the right to their own opinion.
I wish more people felt that way...

The political discourse on both sides can be described as pathetic at best. The fact that people listen to what people like Rush Limbaugh, Michael Moore, and Ann Coulter say is bad for our nation because they are demagogues.

The historic previous of western astrology can now be traced decrease back to historic Babylonia, and definitely to the earliest tiers of Babylonian historic previous, e.g. to approximately 3000 B.C. I wish I knew. I don't know too much on what Obama stands for. When he was running for Senate I listened to him give speeches and was glad to see a man of color speak without saying, "Uh" and "..You know what I'm saying?". I do know that he wants to employ a universal health care program and I'm totally not for that. Many people on both sides (sometimes myself included) spout off names and insults when there is lack of anything to debate with or when they just to be funny.
But to be a bad guy, I'll just call you a weirdo! ;)
J/K of course.

We can hope that they don't vote, but there's no guarantees either way. Some days I almost think we were better off to let only landowners vote. If you don't have the energy and initiative and ambition to earn enough to buy a small plot of land, how can we trust you to cast an educated vote?

Have you ever read answers to Republicans questions? They are just as bad if not worse. We all need to grow up! I guarantee you that if half of these people were face to face with the other side, they wouldn't be as rude.
