I like it. In fact, it was on our list if the child we are currently expecting was a boy (we are having a girl, Gwendalyn Rose, though). We had settled on another boy name, but Mitchell made our list.
We like names that are not too uncommon, but not popular either. Mitchell, aka Mitch, sounds nice for both a child and an adult.
I think a lot of people, when naming their babies, need to remember that the baby is going to grow up into an adult! Some names just do not sound as well when you picture them on a 40 year old. Mitchell is not one of them:D

It's alright but every Mitch I know is fat, ugly and very rude.
I guess I look at the people I know and base the name off them since for some reason a name brings out characteristics in a person...
ps: I've seen it in a movie as a girl's name...but yes Michelle is the girl version of Mitchell.
also Mitchell reminds me of Mitchell's Bay...a beach lake....

Mitchell is good. How About Marcus Xavier or Ian. I like Mitch, but think about high school--Mitch the B***h--gotta think about that too!

It's not a bad name, but it makes me think of Mitchum, the deodorant. I know a few people by the name and I don't think that's ever come up though, so if you really like it, go for it!
