You will know it. If it were to happen, please don't worry, you are far enough along. I was induced at 36 weeks exactly (due to preeclampsia) and my son was born with an apgar of 8 & 9, weighed 6lbs, 1oz (my doctor said he would have been well over 8lbs had I gone to 40wks), and he was never behind, as they say some preemies are. Good luck and believe me... you will know!!!

I have been taking child birthing classes. What we were told in class is that you're in (real) labor if:1- your water breaks (it may or may not) and 2- you're having REAL contractions. You go to the hospital if your contractions are 1 minute long and 5 minutes apart. You could loose the mucus plug before you go into labor. If you're not sure- call your doctor!!! That's what they're there for!

Braxton hicks contractions will not be at regular intervals. If your contractions are regular then you should call your doctor or just go on in to the hospital. They can check you and the worst thing they will do is send you back home.

if you have more then 5 contractions in an hour then you need to go. you may also want to call your doctor and update them.
I went onto premature labor 3 times and I had the steroid stops they are to help the development of the lungs and heart.
I had mine at 37 weeks and he still had to go into the NICU.
Good Luck

Trust me, you will know. When you can't breathe through a contraction and they are becoming regular and closer together (5 min apart is the time to get to the hosp), then you can go. Otherwise you're just having normal contractions.
I lost my plug like 10 days before I went into labour, that's not a very good predictor of impending labour.
Good luck!!

you should make sure you are drinking water!!!! if you are having more than 4-5 contractions w/i an hour, then you may certainly want to call your dr. the sharp tightening/squeezing in your vaginal are probably ligaments stretching and your baby is probably just getting in position. White discharge is pretty normal, but clear constant fluid is more for leaking. you're probably good but don't feel ashamed to call your dr. and know for sure. This could be your 10th child and you could still not know for sure, so don't let any of that bother you. good luck!
