JFK would've ended the War in Vietnam much sooner than LBJ did. Robert would have become President and continued trying to bring about peace. MLK would have continued his march for freedom. Young black people would be better off today for his example and leadership. John Lennon would have figured out by now that Yoko Ono is an ugly, greedy hag and he'd be married to some trophy wife while he wrote incredible music!

First of all, most of those people, if they were still alive, would be dead by now. Second, I take from your question that you think if they had not been killed the world would be all hugs and kisses, balloons and singing birds. Who do you think got us into the Vietnam war? That's right. JFK. I'm not saying his decision was a bad one. He saw a situation that he thought would threaten US interests and he acted on it, just like any other president would. RFK abused his office of AG by going after political enemies. There's also some question about both JFK and RFK in regards to the death of Marilyn Monroe. John Lennon a great person? He was stoned 24 hrs. a day. If that and preferring peace over war (who doesn't?) makes you great, well I guess he was. The point is, this world is full of evils of all kinds. To think that one man or woman is going to somehow change the mindsets of despots like Bin Laden or Hussein, or HItler or Stalin, or Mao etc., is living in a fools paradise. Wake up.

The world probably would not be that different. The only thing that I think would be different is that these men would probably not be regraded as legends today. In fact, I'll go as far as saying they probably would not be all well liked. I could see Martin Luther King getting the same treatment that Al Sharpton gets today. JFK had a lot of good ideas, but with every great idea, there are some flaws to it. Today, we would probably start feeling the flaws in his ideas and forget everything great the man did and start hating him for just being human. In a sad way, it was a good thing that they die in this way. Because of that, people will always see them as legends, above being human. Had they still lived, all they would be is human. And for some reason in our society, people hate that. People in general are fickle, they love and adore you one day, then they hate and want to murder you the next.

whether Lennon's having lived longer would have helped to shape the world for better is debatable. in my estimation, it's unlikely that it would have, for he was, talented or not, merely a pop singer. had JFK, RFK and MLK all lived longer, however, the tantalizing possibilities might very well have included a quicker withdrawal from Vietnam, as opposed to LBJ's escalation of the conflict and Nixon's expansion of it beyond Vietnam's borders. in addition, and no less significantly, when it comes to the matter of civil rights/race relations, much more substantive change would likely have come had they lived than has actually unfortunately done so in the intervening forty or so years since their deaths...
