My parents have an old house and the bathroom has a shower stall separate from the bath tub. The shower is a one handle shower and was manufactured by Kohler. It drips constantly. I unscrewed everything and tightened everything. I looked at the washers and everything seemed to be in good condition. I know the simple solution is is to call a plumber. Is there any other way I can fix this on my own for cheap? Please Help!!!! Thanks!

The shower is leaking from the shower head. It's not leaking from the handle.

If the washers are good, it could be the seat they go against is pitted or worn. You can purchase a reseating tool that will take out the pits. about $10 at Home Centers.

Where, exactly is it dripping from? The head or the handle? Does it drip with the shower head off? If not, just replace the head. If so, and you've thoroughly checked the connections at the turn on valve, you've got little choice but to call a pro. (p.s. even washers the look good can sometimes be hard or ill-fitted. you might change them before making the call.)

go int your opther bathroom and remove the shower head and place it on the leaky one. if it doesn't leak then you have solved your problem. if it does leak replace the washers even if the look good. if it doesn't leak youved solved your problem. (make sure you use teflon tape or teflon paint when replacing your shower head. ) do everything that you can do yourself before calling a pro.
