Just like Iraq, Iran is no threat to the US, but may well be attacked, Iran has oil too, and Israel would very much like anyone who dares criticize it "wiped off the map"

However unpopular the war in Iraq, and people can question motives all they want, Iran is now the biggest threat to US interests in the middle east... if the Shiites were to make a stand against the Sunnis, just in number of people, that civil war wouldn't last long, but then you'd have both Iran & Iraq controlled by Shiites, and more than likely, both eventually becoming one country under Ahmadinejad, who then could do the same thing with oil as Venezuela's Chavez.

Probably because we seem to be working diplomatically with North Korea to contain their nuclear ambitions, and thanks our proactive approach in Iraq, Iraq won't have ever have nukes... Iran has a leader bent on becoming the premier leader of the middle east, and President Ahmadinejad's rhetoric makes him sound the least predictable of the three axis of evil countries.

America's biggest fear in Russia was some rogue nation obtaining nukes after the split of the Soviet Union, and then selling them on the black market to someone like Iran or Iraq... I would consider Venezuela as much a threat, and there is always ole Fidel just 90 miles off the coast... so Iran having nuclear capabilities at all, means an unstable middle east... an opportunity for Iran to pick up where Saddam left off, to make a name for themselves by attacking Israel, and becoming the hero of all Muslims... some see Israel as the head of the snake, and the US as the tail... cut off the head and the tail will die too.

All of these countries that see the US as weak, should just be glad that we are civil, because after 9/11, it would have been real easy to go Hiroshima or Nagasaki on the Taliban and Al Qaeda... and at the time, I'm not sure it would have even been questioned.

That said, terrorists wouldn't be near as successful if they weren't using bush league tactics, and if the US would take off the kiddie gloves and fight them on their level, the way Israel does, make it personal... do you think Osama doesn't know when he's caught he won't get his neck popped like Saddam? Was it really an accident video was leaked of him hanging, or information that one of his subordinate's head came off? Absolutely not... Osama will be playing 'Where's Waldo' until the day his liver finally gives out on him.

I wonder if Russia would really care that much if we were to drop a few nukes on the mountains between Pakistan and Afghanistan... how long do you think it would take Osama to come out of the caves, or the locals to give him up if we were to start bouncing the rubble?

So yes, Iran is a real threat, and not to just Israel and US interests... all of the partisan talk comparing Iraq and Vietnam is the very reason Ahmadinejad's 15 minutes has lasted this long, and Chavez feels bolstered... America refuses to get down on their level, and fight in the mud, and our opponents know it... there has to be some restraint or we would totally annihilate them!

I think that as much as people criticize Bush, they'd better be glad that someone like Truman isn't still around... there is a reason we are No.1, and if these would-be pretenders don't quit poking us with a stick, they just might find out why we have a bully reputation!

Just as conspiracy theorists believe Bush, Jr. is just finishing what his daddy started in Iraq, let's not forget that Iran, including its sitting president, held Americans hostage for 444 days just a short 30 years ago...

I think Iran is a real threat to the whole world since they do have designs on nuclear weapons and do have links to terrorist groups like Hamas who could get the weapons and use them anywhere. Yes Israel would be in danger but not the only one we need to worry about.

O.kay...so the crazies want all americans dead, they kidnapped and held AMERICAN hostages for over a year. These same Islamic Jihadists (Hamas, Mujahadeen, etc.) feel that anyone who disagrees with their thinking and belief system are infidels who should be converted or killed...do you really think they are rational? or that there can be any diplomatic solution?

These same radicals want to kill every Isreali...they believe that they don't have a right to live. Most of land that is now Isreal was legally bought from Palestinians. The Palestinians initially greeted the Jews with open arms because they brought jobs and work for the Palestinian people. They have seen how the Isreali's have prospered, and are jealous of the standard of living in Isreal compared to other countries in the Middle East. In the oil rich countries, there are a few oil "barons", and then there are those who work for them.

Isreal in an anomoly in which many Isreali's live well because they have a socialist government that takes care of their people. When the Jews took over the land, which they purchased, they created communes and learned which crops would grow by trial and error. They brought over technology and created industries because most were European educated, and so were able to created their version or our silicon valley.

I believe that the Palestinians and other middle eastern countries and see the prosperity and want it for themselves.

Iran wants to become nuclear so that they can spread their agenda and influence over the region. Iran wants to control the region.

We know today, that the Iranian government in clearly Anti-American and Anti-Isreal, and will do anything to increase their sphere of influence. Do you really want anti-christian, anti-semitic, and anti-American influence over the entire middle East? Which is just a short boatride to the African continent...and soon Africa could fall under that same Jihadist sphere of influence...

Iran is no just a small island of anti-American sentiment. The want all Christians, Americans, and Jews dead...do you really want someone that wants you dead to have nuclear power?

2. Iran has called for our complete destruction in the same speech that discussed wiping Israel off the map.

3. What Neocons are you speaking of?

4. I'm an Independent, yet I do not believe the US is doing enough to deal with them. So please explain what you are talking about.......

Well maybe you should listen more to what Iran says instead of trying to victimize them and blame Israel. If a country such as Iran talks about wiping us off of the map I take that seriously. Why doesn't rove?

Any nation who posseses:
A> A fanatical and intransigent hatred for the USA and...
B> A nuclear weapon
...sadly must be annihilated, without hesitation,
1> For our own self-preservation, and,
2> As a grisly warning to others who have A and are thinking about B.
Iran has A and is working on B.
Do the math.
STOP HITLARY NOW!!!

Which Neocons can't wait to get to Tehran? Do you mean other Y!A users? Is there a specific political group wanting this? And you think it is Neocons?

Got some evidence? Otherwise, this is just talk.
