Everyone I know has zero respect for housewives. They are viewed as lazy and without motivation. The best skills they possess are changing diapers, fixing lunch, and chatting on the phone. If I lived like that I would just commit Hari kari.

I think you will find plenty of women on here that will take the bait in this "question."

There are many Moms and Dads who enjoy being home with their kids rather than putting them into day care of with a sitter.

Those parents enjoy the time they have with their kids, helping them learn, fixing them lunch, having play dates with friends.

Not everyone sits around and chats on the phone, most stay at home moms have a house to clean, laundry to do, constant watch over a child, and many other things. In this instant I don't think the other parent working has to do these things because they are working.

There is no reason being a stat at home parent cannot be a fulfilling, rewarding job, and they do deserve respect and admiration for doing this.

There is no job that is more important than taking care of the family!

As the world decries the lack of morality, the loss of values and the high crime rate, it also ignors the fact that children are no longer raised by loving, interested parents but by strangers in an institution.

The unniverse of family revolves around the sun that shines from the mother.

Perhaps everyone you know are a bunch of narrowminded judgemental fools who do not understand how important it is to be the cornerstone that holds family together.

Taking care of a household is an extremely busy and demanding job and it is clear that you do not understand just how much is involved. To be fair there probably are some lazy mothers, but there are lazy people everywhere. There are SO many worse things to be than a housewife.

Have you ever tried being a househusband?
Seriously, there's a lot more to the sterotype we stay-at-home wives than you think. We do a lot that can be listed on a resume, like finance budgeting, housekeeping, childcare, motivator, conselor, errand-runner, driver, etc. We don't all just stay at home and chat on the phone. By staying at home, we allow our hubbies to excel at their own job without having to stress out about the kids at daycare, the shopping, the cooking, the cleaning, etc.
It's a job itself, just a misunderstood, underappriciated,one.
And on a lighter note, something worse would be her as a prostitute in your own home(LOL)

WOW
how about you experience everything it takes to be in charge of a baby all day long...
thats rude and disrespectful and obviously from the opinions from people who either dont have children or dont know what it entails to take care of them
