I never keep things that doesn't belong to me. I'd once found a wallet with ATM/credit cards and cash on the street, it was midnight when I saw it. Early in the morning, I called the number that is written in her calling card and her father answered it since the daughter went to the banks to stop her accounts, etc. I told that father to tell her daughter to come at the restaurant where I was working that time to get her wallet. Exactly on the time I told them, they came. I handed her the wallet and in return I received an envelop from them with money as a reward. I refused to receive but I was forced to get it as it is part of the culture here in our country (though I don't always follow cultures here).
I had once lost my bag after shopping as it was placed at the side of the shopping cart. When I arrived home, I found out that I forgot my bag. I hurriedly went back to the shop/store and report it to the manager. All the staff and security guards were looking around the shop. I was advised to go to the Police Station to report the lost bag. Three police officers accompanied me to the shop. But when we got back there, the manager told me that they found my bag at the back of the shop, which was taken by another customer. All the things inside my bag were kept but the cash of about 1,500dollars was taken away. Well, the lost money didn't matter to me. All matters to me were ATM cards, credit cards, health insurance card and driver's license.
*An honest person by itself will never lost a valuable thing in his life.

yes I would and tell the person in L&F I've found what I was looking for. Lets hope the person whose looking for the item I took isn't looking for it.

Sure why not, it is lost and the person knows they may not get it back anyway. The only thing I would be worried about is bad Karma.

Nop... would not go for it.
The Buddhist concept of steeling is... taking anything that was not given to you! The Christian is "Thou shall not steel"... so to be safe I don't.
But I may add the item to my "Too get" list.
