You need to find something to make life worth living, don't expect anyone to bring it to you. Maybe you could help someone else that feels bad, that might cheer you up?

The common misconception among everyone is that "happiness" is a state of mind that is a constant. This leads to massive disapointment and ultimate depression in a lot of people who realize their lives are not "constantly happy."

Happiness comes in a moment of time when everything falls exactly into whatever it is that your mind needs at that very moment. You smile, you find joy, and ultimately you tell yourself that which whatever has happened made you happy at that time. When you have a life filled with more of those than few, you consider yourself a "happy" person.

It sounds to me that you're on the brink of a more pressing issue. You sound as though you're "hopeless" to me. That's a bad place to be because it's harder to come back from. In that case, it could be physical, it could be a decided choice (although I don't believe that's true) or it could be that you need to re-evaluate what in your life is making the opposite of those happy moments. Begin to create more of the possibilities that those moments could happen and you're smile will come back slowly.

First you should rule out the physical. See a doc....

Good luck!

Absolutely. What you need to do is get back to basics, and consider counseling.

For example, I go into a similar, if not the same "funk" as you describe. I had to remember what made me happy when I was a kid, and get counseling, in order to get out of it.

I bought an mp3 player and loaded it with songs that make me happy (I use music where some people use drugs). Included in my song list is the theme for the muppets and the theme for Fraggle Rock. Both shows are throw backs from childhood that made me happy.

Also, I started to read more, and get outside more. Both of those things used to be a large part of my life.

Figure out what you used to do, and start doing it again.

Life is definately worth living.

You need to occupy your mind with things that will make you happy....... like work, a hobby, a friend, a pet, etc.. whatever it takes..
You won't find happiness if you sit there and do nothing.
Yes life is worth living.. there are so many things out there that need to be explored, things to learn, stuff to do..
If you have family, spend more time with them.. I am sure they can make you smile..
If you have friends, go out more enjoy them!
Read.. there are many things out there that can help you get on the right track again..
And most of all .. see a doctor because it could be you are suffering from mild depression..
Good Luck!!

Sweetie, it sounds like you might be depressed--if so, then you have my sympathy because I'm going through the same thing. For a long time I didn't think I could be depressed because I'm not sad... I'm just not ever happy, either. Nothing seems exciting or worthwhile. But that is one of the major symptoms of depression.

If you are an adult, you should make an appointment with a psycologist, and if you are a kid, you should talk to your parents about getting some help.

Are you alive? Are you breathing? Are you sick, healthy? There's many things to be greatful for. Just because you're not rich, or not popular , or whatever is goin on in your life didn't happen, honestly doesn't mean it still can't. LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. You have the choice to either be happy or sad. What choice will you make?

I gotta yell at you: QUIT THINKING ABOUT YOURSELF for a change!! and think of others; your family, friends, etc...if you have your health, a place to live, and friends/family, you are a lot better off than many people in other parts of the world...take a good long look at all the positives in your life and start dwelling on THEM and not the stuff you don't have!!

Join the club. I feel the same way sometimes. Rarely does anything good happen to me. I have lost my sense of humor. Things that used to be funny are not funny anymore.
