Venom and Carnage are supposed to be the same strength. I remember when I used to collect marvel cards they had both listed as a "5", while Spider-Man was a "4".

The only reason Carnage has a one up on Venom is because Eddie Brock fell in love with the doctor that was helping him. When your in love you get weak and others can take advantage of you. Now seeming as both of them are made from the same symbiot, they have equal ability physically, yet Carnage has a slight psychotic side which can make him appear stronger. I still think Venom rocks!

If I'm not mistaken, and I may be, I think Carnage always got the better of Venom when they fought. As tough as Venom was Carnage beat him like an unwanted step-child.
What was ironic is that both hosts to these symbiotes developed cancer while merged.
Haven't seen Carnage in quite a while.

Carnage is completely stronger than venom due to the fact that the venom suit is alien and the carnage suit was born on earth it adapted and therefore is now able to do things like throw pieces of it self like knives. where venom can only extend himself. he is also alot stronger.

If I recall correctly, Venom was physically the stronger of the two. However, strength alone does not make a winner in a fight. Carnage had an even greater degree of ruthlessness than Venom, and prehaps a greater degree of skill and proficiency in the use of his powers.
Remember, Venom was also physically stronger than Spider-Man, yet Spidey also defeated him.

I think Eddie Brock/Venom is stronger than Cletus Kasady/Carnage.

Eddie Brock (Venom) is stronger, which was proven by the Carnage symbiote spawn returning to him, as one of the many hosts it jumped to to (re)gain power.
