Well...I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion as you are too yours and I am to mine. But I do also believe that you are new to Yahoo! Answers as to the Philosophy section. Still, if you do have an opinion on philopsophy that is ... in a way negative, I suggest you take a look at some of the other sections of Philosophy.
But, have a nice day...GLOWW!!!

Not sure that philosophy is about "thinking (too!) deeply".

Its possibly boring because we may not have the most
direct and thus exciting questions to ask.
But this could change,- even by next week for instance.
Thus i think there is hope for me,you and the rest.
(By the way,im not saying what will happen;just what i
estimate might happen;boring i know, but then this flippin
constant daily rain here everyday, down in texas,is boring
too;and even though i may be able to prove that its
connected with global warming, this would probably not
change-the-mind of President Bush!)
All the best from a wet and a not-so-boring State.

It has been said that nothing is more boring than the company of virtual people. Unfortunately, that is true.

Philosophy is no fun ... it is a serious task for the mind and the soul to perform "at their leisure time". That's why it feels heavy and lingering. It is a trip for the intellect full of rules that cannot be broken, twisted or overlooked. A philosopher is no jester and no entertainer, Maybe that's why.

It is boring because:

Philosophers have no meaningful answers.
They keep trying to find meaningful answers.
They are looking from the wrong perspectives.
They are being paid to find answers.
The result is senseless detail about that which cannot be resolved from the wrong perspectives.
For example:
Immanuel Kant wrote "The Critique of Pure Reason." As the title says reason and pure reason are two different things. Pure reason is the stuff of modern philosophy and as he proved by its own premises, it is an empty bag. The fundamental error occurs in the first paragraph and invalidates everything which follows as being rationally stilted and therefore meaningless to the real world of fully meaningful rationality. To write that much "stuff" whose conclusions is guaranteed meaninglessness has got to be boring beyond comprehension.

"Philosophy is the backbone of all thought, scientific, economic, religious, ect. To disregard it is to wallow in ignorance. Or as I like to call it, cynicism"

Which is exactly why the world is as it is, caught in the web of two wrong perspectives and all the ignorant pursuits that follow.

I have a degree in Philosophy. I thought that most of it was boring. But there are things that I learned which made a difference in my life. It is the process that Philosophy teaches you that is exciting, useful, and fufilling. Reading other people's ideas can be boring.

Think of Philosophy as the most complex board game ever played. There are hundreds of pieces, lots of strategies, and multiple ways of arrive to the same outcome. The only winner is you. You succeed by attaining knowledge you get from playing the game.

If you dont desire to learn, or if you find the game pointless- then boredom will ensue.

To quote/paraphrase Nietzsche "One must be an Eagle to build one's nest over the abyss."
W/o the mind that is willing and able to soar with eagles...one is not fit to engage in philosophical discourse, one only degrades philosophy to the point of mediocrity so that it can make sense to the mediocre.
Mediocre minds have followed the tradition of sullying philosophy since first Aristotle took up its pursuit...very few since that time have soared with the eagles.
Sad but True.

might not know the significance or relationship between it and life.
For example: What happened in Germany under Hitler happened because of poor philosophers taking control, due to the majority of the population who thought it was too "borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring" to consider.
You could become a murderer without even knowing it.

Because you have not found the right philosophy or you have been exposed all your life to psuedo philosophies.

Try the only philosophy in the history of the world that adheres to absolutes, logic, and reason.

Objectivism.
