Why do girls judge girls who wear makeup?

I am 20 and at a top uni. I started wearing makeup at 16 and most of the girls in high school wore it. Yet at my (more nerdy) university, most girls don't and assume that the ones that do are "stupid, sorority girls, fake, arrogant" and one of my floormates said that she thought "girls who wore makeup were ugly."

What's up with this? I've outscored on exams loads of girls who don't wear makeup, and I probably surprised them when I told them my grades.

Also people always assume my GPA is lower than it really is, but I'm on the goddamn honors roll at my uni, etc.

So why all the judgment?

Also another floormate wore makeup once and told me that "she felt like a clown," clearly knowing that I do wear makeup.

She was also the one that told me she thought our other 2 floormates were ugly because she said " I bet they think they are so hot, but I think they're ugly..."

So why all this hatred?

competing for a guy? I have a long-term boyfriend and I wear makeup for my own benefit, not to get guys.

and not to be mean, but most of the guys at my uni can't compare to my boyfriend...he's much better

btw the only makeup I wear is eyeliner, shadow, and concealer.......

They just feel that they spend ALL their time studying to get the "marks" they do, and stupidly think that girl who ACTUALLY have time for their looks (make up, clothes, etc) are stupid because now they cannot commit that time on their studies.

They are just nerds who dont wear make up. And want to "justify" themselves.

Next time you talk to these people who have the face to indirectly diss you for wearing make up, tell them in your own way, "some of these girls are so ugly they NEED to wear make up".
Or, just cause someone wears make up doesnt make them stupid. You'd think someone with a BRAIN could figure that out.
And for the clown comment (if you want to get back at her for it), just comment on other girls looking like "clowns wearing make up" and say "Geez, they're so stupid, they dont even know how to put on make up properly, no wonder they look like clowns"

Mostly, these girls are just jealous. Just cause they spend all day studying doesnt mean other people who get the same mark have to too. and if they cant see that, well no wonder they spend all day studying.

Jealousy probably. Or maybe they are more into the natural look. Maybe they see you have makeup on all the time and is able to go to college and maintain a high gpa is a blow to their ego. Seeing as to they study all the time (I am making an assumption) and not have time to "doll up." Who knows what the answers are, but just know that what they say won't affect you. Let them talk all they want, if you feel happy wearing makeup, then plaster it on. You have made it this far in life, don't let petty girls get in the way.

They probably feel a little threatened by your looks.
I personally don't like too much makeup. I wish I had never dicovered it! I only wear mascara and concealer for the occasional spot nowadays. But I have nothing against girls who do wear it/a lot of. Sometimes I see a girl wearing a LOT, and I feel bad for her because I think she would be a lot prettier without all of it...but I won't make a rude comment or anything.

It's called competition. Not good, but common. Ignore it. One should be happy in who won is and not have to compete. Instead one should just work on ones own improvement. And of course, it is all about competing for male attention... generally the wrong kind of male. Make up is a kind of war paint. I've never understood why women want to compete for a man. If you all made common cause, we wouldn't have a chance... and we might behave better.
