I am wondering why, everyone is so excited about them, other then the fact that one is a women, and the other is a black male, Does that in it self mean that they will be good presidents? according to the dems Bush is useless, if so then how come we never hear what they can do better for this country, according to Obama all he want's to do is criticize Bush , but he can't seem to come up with any good ideas about health care, or the economy, or how this country needs to conduct it self. Hillary is always bringing up health care but she doesnt say anything about how bad it works in other countrys, or how much it will cost us you always hear the slams about the Republicans. I think it is all politics and no one really gives a damn about the real people in this country. All these politicians want to do is be president,and screw the people that vote for them. I am not taking up for anyone, I just wnat to no why I should vote for any one in particular. debates are a joke, wont ask tough?

It works both ways . Both parties do it. If one party has the office, the other campaigns against the mistakes they have made. They have learned not to make too many promises they can't keep. The other side has to come up with what they would do to make things better. This election, the sitting party is so unpopular it is easy to bash them. I am having trouble liking anyone for next year's election. I guess I will just have to see who survives and pick the one that mostly agrees with my views. Which is tough. Being a moderate, I like some of the views from each side.

You already know the answer. They dont have any idea. If we're unlucky and one of them wins, in January 09 they are going to be sworn in and all of a sudden go "Oh CRAP!" I have no idea what to do. Thats why they are pushing for bush to get the troops out now. They are counting on a typical US civilians very short memory. They will say that the troop withdrawl was only done because of pressure from them, then a year from now, if they win and the world sees how ****** up Iraq is, they can say that the Republicans "cut and ran" and will claim they had not a dammn thing to do with it.
And as far as socializing medicine, we can see what kind of Doctors are attracted to that.....in Britain.

Yes it's going to be another election where we will be offered a choice of inbred imbeciles. Neither "Party " seems to have a single candidate worth voting for. The last two elections we were given a choice of which moron we wanted.
If only there was a third party that stood for something I could support. Looks like I will just vote against all incumbents.

I think people can rightfully be excited that we have a black and a female candidate. It says something very positive and hopeful about our society.
Does that mean they'll perform well as presidents? Maybe, maybe not. But it does highly suggestive that they might help us break away from some bad habits that our society is engaged in. Namely racism and sexism. Not cigarette smoking, though. Obama is a big smoker and is trying to hide it. :P
So, their race and gender is not the best measure of possible performance on the job, but you should understand why we should be excited about the very fact.
