If someone lives in Illinois and is involved in a car accident in Missouri, the person who lives in Illinois has no insurance. No fault has been assessed as of yet. What laws apply, Illinois insurance laws or Missouri insurance laws?

If the person has no insurance and the damage to the other person's car is major, does that insured person's insurance company go after the uninsured in a judgement or what actually happens to the uninsured do they get off scott free?

You asked several questions.

Insurance is not limited by state lines. However, after having an accident in a different state my insurance carrier told me they could no longer insure me at my new address.

The uninsured motorist could lose their car. A friend was hit by an uninsured motorist who was given that choice.

"No Fault" insurance laws vary by state.

If a personal injury was involved, your question becomes more complicated.

Good luck!

For folks that keep right here for the summer season months, and go back to a southern state for the wintry weather, a few produce other preparations.
