Teddy Roosevelt was a strong leader, good President, conservationist, and he was a gentleman. He tried to preserve wildlife for future generations by creating national parks. He was so modest that he said that it is unpatriotic to not criticize the President and let people criticize him, and he learned and improved from criticism. Nowadays, Republicans are corporation lovers, their corporations cut down trees, don't try hard to stop pollution, and the party is in general, corrupt as hell. I wish we would have a decent President like Teddy again.

That's why Teddy's on Rushmore and current-day Republicans won't be.
Then again, that whirring sound you hear coming from Monticello is Mr. Jefferson spinning in his grave thinking about what the lberals have done to HIS party.

If you replace the word Republican with Democrat it is still true. Democrats are corporation lovers, their corporations cut down trees, they don't really try to stop pollution (Al Gore is a great example of this), and the party is corrupt as hell.

There is nothing wrong with cutting down trees, it is a renewable resource. CLEAR cutting is something that is not legal anymore.
And if you think the Dems dont love Corporations as much as Rebublicans then you REALLY need to take off the blinders. They just somehow have convinced the world that they love the people more.
I dont know about you but the only thing the Dems have ever done "for me" is raise my taxes.

Teddy Roosevelt supported conservation for use. He created the national parks so people would have places to go hunting and enjoy the outdoors. He did not create the national parks to protect wildlife.

Why is it that the more time passes our past leaders look more like gleaming heros than the true human beings they really were? Don't you guys ever think that there were people who disliked Washington, Lincoln and even precious Kennedy JUST AS MUCH as people dislike Bush? The present conflicts will be our past successes.

Teddy would be leading progressive libertarian party to a victory for the White House over the Democrats and Republicans. Plus he would have stopped the Mexican immigration problem by Annexing Mexico making everyone Americans probably Canada too.

I am generally conservative and think Teddy was one of our greatest Presidents. We should look for people like him to lead us today.

Yeah, probably. TR was noted for saying he owed his allegence to his country , not his party. He was as much a Dem as he was a Rep when in office, and that is part of what made him one of our greatest Presidents ever!
