I have a cockney accent but because I live in Devon now I sound a bit like a carrot cruncher at times

Mine is a mix I think - I was born in Manchester and lived there until I was sixteen, then I moved to London and lived there for sixteen years too. Personally, I still think I've got my mancunian accent but when I go back to Manchester they all say I sound "Like a Southerner" and to me they all sound like Vera and Jack off Coronation Street their accent's are so braod!

English mixed - I lived in Norfolk Gayton for my formative years and then moved to Hornsea, I remember people taking the micky out of my really posh accent - mum was really surprised because she remembered hearing a Dorset whir in me one time (mum was from Dorset) and I have been living in hull for the past 8.

no accent. I've been told on more than one occasion (while in the military) most people could not guess what part of the country i was from because i had no accent. but had no problem with guessing where others were from.
