I don't know. But I did see him score from 2nd base on a passed ball. Thats pretty amazing. Takes a lot of guts and speed to do that, which probably says a lot about him.

Well anyone could be a star if you let them bat in front of Manny and Papi (except Julio Lugo I guess), and Ellsbury was bandied about as "the best OF prospect in the minors" before he got the call.

Supposedly Torii Hunter wants to play for the Red Sox next year, and they've shown some interest. If he doesn't sign with them, Ellsbury will be the starting center fielder next season. My guess is they're trying to see exactly what he's got now, so they're better equipped to make that decision next spring.

jacoby ellsbury is a centerfielder with a ton of potential. He is one of the fastest players in the majors, running 3.5 seconds to first base. he just needs to get equipped with the other fielders and he will be a starter within 5 years.

He is a decent hitter with speed and no power. He was great at Oregon State and continued to perform well in the minors but MLB presents challenges for any young player trying to make it. I can see him coming to MLB, to stay, in a few years but I would be surprised if he really made it big time.

Not many guys have his speed so he defiantly has a future in MLB. I would say the Soxs need to hold on to him because he's got some serious potential.
