Unfortunately America is going to remain a fairly racist country for a very long time. It takes a long time to get rid of a bad habit, and it doesn't help when there are still outrageously racist people who pass that hate on to their children. Granted people aren't always as open about their hate as they used to be 50 years ago or so, but in my opinion it's even worse when you're, say, working for someone who sees you as the dirt beneath his shoe simply because of what color you are or how you pray or what accent you speak with.
As a white girl I never really experienced racism or intolerance until I became a Muslim. Now I get it from all sides and I don't feel pity for myself, I feel pity for the people who are so ignorant and make such a huge deal over something that quite honestly is none of their business. And I feel sorry for all the people who have to put up with such b.s. on a regular basis simply because some loon for some reason or other is too afraid to educate himself. The truth is that some just don't want to get rid of it. I can't for the life of me figure out any other reasons other than people are so miserable that by making someone else seem more inferior than them is the only way they can feel better about themselves. Which still doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
Sometimes when I reflect on things like this, it just makes me feel sick to my stomach at the way people can be over such nonsense.

illegal immigrants take low paying jobs because A) there's not a lot of regulation and B) the wages are high compared to what they can make in Mexico. Black work low wage jobs because A) they don't have a lot of education and B) they are told from the time they are born that to make it they have to "sell out to the man". Racism has jack squat to do with it.

You're becoming a member of a debate in growth already, and the consensus up to now is they must cross house. Not a whole majority, but when u hang around right here lengthy sufficient, I believe you can see it is 70-eighty% of the posts...there may be a few arguments professional-unlawful, however plenty of em do not get up to near scrutiny. About the one truly case you'll be able to make for admitting humans to our nation illegally is that they are economic difficult-good fortune circumstances, a humanitarian factor. But, there may be different methods to deliver humanitarian support than via brushing aside our legislation.

Its not about racism, its about choice. If blacks do not choose to get an education and a better paying job, its their fault not society's. If immigrants choose not to learn our language, its their fault not our's. Besides, not everyone can be a doctor or rocket scientist, we need low wage manual labor workers.

We do what we should have done in the first place if we had the moral conviction. We treat them like the human beings that they are. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.
