This guy wrote a book since Carson died in which Ed claims that he and Johnny were a "comic team" along the lines of the likes of Laurel & Hardy and Lewis & Martin.

you're right. the guy is really reaching. carson is classic. my old boss had some skits of him online. i wish he forwarded them to me cuz the were funny as hell. you really were in for a treat whenever he was on the tonight show. about the only thing ed mcmahon offered was his dopey laugh after EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE johnny carson made

I think McMahon tries so hard to be in the limelight and he uses Johnny to do it. He just doesn't have what it takes. He was Johnny's announcer and straight man - that's all. You couldn't begin to compare Ed & Johnny to Martin & Lewis. You're right, Ed is delusional.

They did do a great many skits together, and Ed was the straight man. I think he has a small point there.

My thoughts are that Ed is old, and a f'in liar, I never got squat from publisher's clearinghouse!
