Why is it people think he's the face and brains behind solving Glaball Warming when he flies his Private Jet from Tennessee to Canada THEN gets into a Prius. And by Private jet I mean a small airliner that can hold 20 plus people and there was only 3 people and the Pilot on the plane. Am I the only one that sees his hipocracy? And dont even get me started on his house.

AC1BD - Your right, I dont know the exact type of plane he flies, but it doesnt take an aviation expert to understand these numbers...

Private planes, take for instance your typical commercial jet, a Boeing 737, well, it seats a maximum of 189 people, it burns 800 gallons of fuel per hour and emits 16,880 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour in the air. Now take a Gulfstream 400, one of the more common brands of private jet. Well, it seats a maximum of only 19 people, it burns 415 gallons of fuel an hour and emits 8,785 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour. That means per passenger a Boeing 737 emits 89 pounds of carbon dioxide an hour while Gulfstream and similar private jets emit 462 pounds of carbon dioxide per passenger per hour.

So I would say that Al Gores Typical Carbon Footprint is slightly larger than that of Saquatch, who I believe he is trying to get on the endaged spieces list.

Who cares about Al Gore? Seriously.

Look, all Gore did was present some of the scientific evidence that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming. That's it. He didn't "invent" global warming, he didn't research it, and he didn't draw the conclusions. He merely drew attention to it.

Is Al Gore a hypocrit? Yeah, to some degree. Apparently he consumes a whole lot of energy at his home, and he jets around a lot, but supposedly he also buys carbon credits to live a carbon neutral lifestyle. Is that a rich cop-out lazyass way to be carbon neutral? Sure it is, but nonetheless at least he does something to neutralize his personal greenhouse gas emissions.

I certainly agree that he should do a lot more to live the environmentally friendly lifestyle that he preaches, but Al Gore really does not matter. He's one person and if he's a hypocrit, that's his own problem.

It shouldn't be used as an excuse for other people to live harmful lifestyles.

Because the sheeple don't look at FACTS. They believe the hype. They believe whatever story has been fed to them by the media this week. Then, they get distracted by some Paris Hilton crap.

If people started learning the TRUTH about Al Gore, Fred Thompson, Hillary Clinton, Rudy Guliani, G. DUHbya, etc., there would be a huge outcry for immediate change across America. Revolution of the MIND is what we need right now.

I know how you feel. It's all about a front. I am a democrat, always have always will be, but that does not stop me from getting mad at them like it may others in there own parties. When it comes to global warming you are either part of the problem (driving hummers, not recycling etc) or part of the solution (driving eco-freindly cars, recycling EVERYTHING you can, etc.) Seems he wants to do a tad bit of both but the good he does driving the prius gets smashed by one trip on the plane.

Does he have solar panels for his house? I think the attention he brings to the issue of global warming, by flying in a jet to testify in front of the Senate or to rally against CO2 emissions, outweighs the negative environmental impact by flying in the jet in the first place. It's a matter of economizing and I think he does it well. So, no, he is not a hypocrite - at least not for that.

because you "might" be a hypocrite does not mean that what you are preaching is not TRUE! I think global warming is a problem - but guess what - I still drive a big gas guzzling truck and use more than my share of water etc.. i suppose if I had a private jet I would use that also! Does not change the fact that global warming is a problem - SOOOOO --do as he says NOT as he does -----yup, life is not fair!!

I don't know anybody who thinks algore is the face and brains behind solving global warming. I don't know anybody who doesn't see him as an attention getter because he doesn't have any friends.

I for one can't afford a Prius and as a vegetarian I NEVER break my own rule.

haha4, we always become the worst example of our own words. Al Gore is no exception. But if u really care about Global Warming, you don't have to put any attention to anyone but yourself and what you should do, right?
I appreciate his lack-of-act intentions though...

That's the idea behind Carbon Credits. The very rich can wag their fingers at us for using too much energy, while they can use even more, so long as they buy "Carbon Credits" to "prove" that they love the Earth.

Gore is the libs hero. Anything that a candidate can come up with to be a divisive issue they love. If Gore said that drinking water was bad for you those fools would believe it. They are just poor lost sheep that keeps on drinking the cool aid...
