Currently, I move to this country from Puerto Rico. We have some split issues with our status relations with USA. Currently a 50% of our population like to be part of this Country. Why? Because we pay USA taxes in our country and not have the benefit to have participation about USA elections.

Joyce, that people your mention that getting the USA helps some of them pay Social Security when they work part time. I understand your point but remember welfare, medicare, Wic of other helps is designed for millions of Americans not for thousand of Puerto Ricans.

Puerto Rico had vote to become part of USA like another state they voted against it, you also have a lot of people in your country collecting welfare and medicaid from USA that is our taxes paying their food, shelter, medical, to the needy

I think we should pull out and see where Puerto Rico would be. I think it would be as bad as the DR Dominican Republic with out our help. We have infused money into both countries I don't see the benefit from it. I worked for AID helping to build roads in the DR and saw how corrupt that they are and we the US kept and still do send more money to them.

Puerto Rico needs to become independent. 50 states is enough.
