In the early stages of the 2000 election John McCain presented a clear and present danger to GWB's election hopes. Though the Republican lobbyists brought out the big gums after McCain won in early states and smeared him. The lobbyist already had their candidate chosen. It was Bush and he won. McCains theories , if put in place throughout the last eight years would have secured Iraq 1 year post invasion and would probably have collapsed the economy of the Iranian extremist by now. I'm betting Hillary gets the nod even if Obama is the more popular candidate due to lobbyist.

It seems not I didn't present my question in a clear fashion. I'm simply asking if the grass roots candidate will EVER win as opposed to the lobbyist choice.

So far only "Face" has captured the essence of the question.

I'm afraid you're right. Obama has said he wants to take the high road and not participate in negative ad campaigns against his opponents and he has raised his money from small private donors instead of lobbeys. Sounds good to me, but a recipe for political disaster going up against the Clintons.

No.

Senator Obama shares very little with Senator McCain these days. McCain is now a hardened Washington insider with far too many years of time under his belt. And his politics are far removed from the grass roots that Obama's campaign is aimed at.

But what bothers me greatly about Senator Obama (and what just cost him my support) is his choice of answer to his Y! Answers question posted some time ago. See the link below for the answer he chose.

It seems his public face is that of a practiced politician rather than an outsider who wants meaningful change. Instead of challenging the status quo, he seems happy to take baby steps that will maintain what is already in place. This is no answer that I can support.

Change is required and it is needed now. Obama didn't convince me that he is the agent of change.

I'm voting for Clinton now more than ever.

My theories would have secured Iraq post invasion. Hindsight is 20/20. John McCain is probably the most overrated politician in history.

He will get about the same number of votes at the convention as McCain. Not many.
