Water is to be pumped to the top of the Empire State Building, which is 1200 ft high. What gauge pressure is needed in the water line at the base of the building to raise the water to this height?

i need this really bad...please help

first Steve C you can only get 32 ft out of a suction pump. A pressure pump will do the job if it is rated to a high enough pressure.
The answer to the question is 516 psi.

It takes several pumping levels, not just one pressure setting. Remember the most you can get is 32 feet with any pump.
