Breaking the law is just that, covering for a friend is a lie. However, if that lie hinders a criminal investigation, then it becomes a crime.

breaking is the is when someone has gone agings what the law of the land said and covering for a friend can be describe has saving a fortune for the less powerless who needed assistance this is not a crime is a devine intervention to save humanity that why sometimes they or in mostcases lawyers will say tamper justice with mercy

Clinton sure didn't have a problem with it. He pardoned almost 200 people before leaving office. Among them; child molesters, drug gangsters, murderers...doesn't make any sense.
