I was thinking it would probably be due to people being hungover; therefore, i was thinking either the day after new years (Jan 2) or the day after the fourth of july (july 5).

I think people work more when hungover than on the day before a holiday. At least after the holiday people come back in to work. The day before a big holiday, some people are already out of town, some people leave early, and the people who come in and stay at work tend to get nothing done because so many other people are missing. So I'll say Dec. 24 or whichever day comes before the winter holiday.

You are correct in your assumptions, but this leaves out an entire group of people, those who do not drink.

In fact, the worst produtivity day is usually the Day before a large full scale vacation, such as the day before Thanksgiving in the US (most offices shut down from Thursday to Sunday) or Christmas world wide. Along with those who are at work and don't wish to work, you have a large number of people who opt for the extra day off, thus productivity drops significantly.

For me it would be February 15th (the day after Valentine's Day). Why? Everybody will be very tired after doing you-know-what on Valentine's Day. In case you don't know what im talking about then you must be a very lonely person.
