Don't they know that people are mad at them for failing to stop the Republicans? It's like the disease feeling validated because the treatment didn't cure it.

People are mad at Congress because the current Congress is lazy and has not followed through with anything they said they would. They said they would make a timetable for Iraq, stop the Iraq War, and many other things. So far they have just made bogus bills that would never pass.

The laughing is the direct result of the irony:

The Dems said that they'd work night and day to fix things yet they only work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Dems said that this Congress would be the most ethical, then tried to appoint a convicted felon as Chairman of the Intelligence Committee.

The Dems said that they would put an end to runaway spending, then tacked $26 billion in PORK on a troop funding bill.

The Dems said that they'd be the most honest Congress ever, and they refuse to censure William "Cold Cash" Jefferson.

The Dems said that they'd be firm in foreign policy, then Nancy Pelosi appoited herself alternate Secretary of State and established a relationship with the Dictator of a terrorist state (Syria)

The Dems said that they'd support the troops and then Dirty Harry appears on television and announces to the World that the war is lost

The Dems are falling in line behind Hillary Clinton for President, knowing full well that she and her husband only missed going to prison for their many felonies by the skin of their teeth.

The Dems are whining, crying and complaining that President Bush commuted the jail term in Scooter Libby's sentence, knowing full well that Bill Clinton, Roger Clinton, Harry Tomlinson and Hugh Rodham were selling pardons out the White House back door for MONEY

The Dems are whining, crying and calling for Alberto Gonzales' head for firing 9 political hack US Attorneys knowing full well that Clinton fired all 97 without reason other than politics, and fired all the employees of the White House Travel Office to make room for political cronies, Etc.

and on, and on, and on.

You wonder why Republicans are laughing. It's like watching some kind of sick, demented burlesque show.

Republicans shouldn't be laughing, but neither should the Dems. You don't get numbers like that unless both sides are unhappy. The REAL reason Congress' approval ratings are in the tank is because both sides are pi$$ed off at them. The Dems feel betrayed because their side are as inept as the Republicans were and haven't fulfilled any of their promises. The Republicans are pi$$ed off because their representatives have betrayed conservative values.

It is obvious that the Democrat's whole purpose, in all that they do, is to bring down the Republican party. Perhaps this is why their numbers are so low. Maybe they should start doing their jobs and focus on the people of this country and what WE need rather than what the Democratic party needs.

The Majority of the American Voters believed the LIES Repeated over and over again by the Democrats. Only NOW ARE THEY UNDERSTANDING how they were manipulated by the Democrats, their Hollywood Friends and their Liberal Socialist Media and TV Stations.

I just laugh at Dems/Libs! Their little rants over the years remind of two school boys that have been caught fighting in the school yard!

No, I don't think it's funny or silly for either side. It's not really a laughable matter when considering that our own government is not trusted, not looked up to and obviously owned and paid for by special interest groups. We, the constituents are the losers.

I'm pointing fingers at both sides.

"They question everything, and believe nothing but what is proven to their own satisfaction, until they have refigured the world. In this way, truth lies. Unfortunately, so does madness."

preoccupation with what others think about issues..where
there is no intelligent concept of where their foundations came from..and why they think the way they do..

to me is as insulting as the way that you even present it..but isn't that the impetus?

It is "silly" as you said for Republicans to look at Congress' low approval rating and laugh because the Democrats are TRYING to accomplish things, but they simply don't have the numbers to. That's what the Democrats need to do, in the simplest terms tell the public they WANT to PASS this legislation, but the Republicans are putting partisanship BEFORE what's BEST for the COUNTRY because it doesn't serve their interests or their lobbyists' interests and because the legislation DOES serve the Best Interests of the American People! Typical. VOTE DEMOCRAT IN '08!!
