My chemistry book had a special chapter regarding the usage of these lab equipments. Don't you have it?

Wire gauze - Used to support larger pieces of glassware/ceramics that are being heated. Used in conjunction with a ring stand.
Triple beam balance - Weighing. More often than not you'll use a more accurate electronic balance.
Stirring rod - Stirring (kinda obvious)
Evaporating dish - Used to evaporate water and/or other solvents away.
Tripod - Stand used for heating.
Rubber stopper - Plug up openings, usually in test tubes or Erlenmeyer flasks
Cork - Can be used to plug up openings, but larger cork rings can be used to support round bottom flasks
Cork borer - Used to drill holes through cork stoppers, to allow the insertion of glass tubing.
Graduated cylinder - Used to precisely measure volumes. Range from 10 ml up to 2-4 L.
Test tube - Usually 10-25 ml, cheap way to view small scale qualitative reactions (really no difference between a normal test tube and a "hard glass" test tube).
Glass tubing - Placed in stoppers, usually to introduce gases without opening the vessel.
Rubber tubing - Used as a connector. Thick-walled rubber tubing can withstand vacuum pressure.
Mortar and pestle - Used to grind solids into fine powders (mortar is the dish, pestle is the "stick").
Bunsen burner - Used to heat. Named after Robert Bunsen, 19th century German chemist
Bunsen clamps - Really is no such thing. There are many different types of clamps. Screw clamps and pinch clamps are used to pinch off rubber tubing, three-pronged clamps or two-pronged clamps hold vessels in place, test-tube clamps hold test tubes to allow for remote handling when heating.
Clamp holders - Are either straight or at right angles to attach clamps to latticework.
Beaker - Range from 10 ml up to 4000 ml, standard open glassware to hold liquids, do weighings, stir reactions in.
Filter paper - Used to filter solids from solutions. Usually used with funnels to allow quick filtering. Come in various sizes and have various pore sizes.

triple beam balance is a scale so it measurse weight in grams, stirring rod= safly mixes chemicals, evap dish = small container in which you heat chemicals to observe the reaction, rubber stopper = seals a test tube or beaker, graduated cylinder = measures and holds, test tube = allows for small amouts of chemicals to be tested, mortar and pestel = grind up "ingresients" to make them smaller/finer, bunsun burners give you flames to heat things with, clamps are so you can hold/move things without burning or hurting yourself, and filter paper = you seperate the solid from the liquid or one chemical from another.

Yep.... A Bunsen burner is used to heat an experimental set-up mildly. It is used instead of a spirit lamp.

Well, I have an comment... It's a very nice question to ask...
