I enjoyed the movie for what it was......big f*cking robots. I knew it wouldn't be a well acted or written movie, simply because Michael Bay was directing, but he does action scenes great.
Plus any time you can hear Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime is a plus in my book.

Ok so what type of movie where you expecting Transformers to be? Did you expect it to win an oscar with graceful story telling. Can you name an action movie like Transformers or even Die Hard to win an Oscar for movie of the year?
It delivered what it was expected to deliver. Robots Transforming into cars, planes, etc. Battles were waged and it was non-stop action and I like many had fun watching the movie.
You need to go into these type of movies not expecting to be amazed by the acting or the story line, this is not the English Patient or Hamlet. This is a summer blockbuster, meant to give the movie goer a good time that's all nothing more. This movie was not created to win an Oscar for it's acting or it's story line.
As far as Jazz goes, just like the design of the Robots it needed to be updated with the times, would I have like him to be more like the original cartoon...yes, but I liked the new Jazz just like everyone else.
So lighten up, have some fun with summer movies they are there to entertain, I mean why do you go to the movies in the first place.....entertainment!!
Update: So if you loved Die Hard which I did as well, which was basically like the other 3 with the bad guys wanting money, but this this action was 10 times as big, and you couldn't like Transformers. Well I guess to each their own and one more thing I wanted to add about the "hot chicks" in the movie and demographic for them, that might be true but I can assure you that people were there more for the Robots then chicks, the "hot chicks" were a nice addition.

I can only tell you why I wasn't disappointed with the film. Because it delivered exactly what was promised: cars turning into robots that fight each other. If you were going into this film for any other reason (believable story, intelligent dialog, realistic characters, etc.), you will be disappointed, because this is not that type of movie. This is an adrenalin pumping, testosterone driven film, based on a series of action figures. So, were the girls dressed slutty? Sure. Was the dialog stupid? Absolutely. Was the editting really hyper? You betcha? Did I mind? Not a bit. I'd love to see the film again. It's like a horror movie, you go to see something like this for the emotional rush, not for the thought-provoking story.
This film really isn't more than meets the eye.

A large number of people have experienced Transformers during their childhood at some point. From what I've heard (haven't seen it yet but will soon), in many ways the new movie holds true to the overall feeling of the original stuff. I think special effects is what fans were looking for in this movie... to be able to see "live" versions of all the characters we all loved as kids.
As for "urban" jazz. Jazz was the same way in the original material and the cartoon movie, so I'd have expected much of the same in this one.

I didn't hate it, but didn't love it, that is for sure. Watching the transformations in front your eyes was totally cool, so there was may oh, 8 mins worth watching.
They tried to bring into play too many subplots with undeveloped and (probably trying to pull in a bigger demographic audience, which also explains the lack of clothing on the women to try to bring in more of the males demographics) and really didn't tie them enough into the storyline to make it work.
The plot line was predictable, the scripting was corny (trying to tie events in with historical activities, a rip off from "National Treasure" and "DaVinci Code") and although the actors did the best with what they had to work with, none of them came across as likable.
The worst characters had to be the "ignorant" parents of the Sam Witwicky, with all the massive Transformers destroying their property and they don't have a clue...PLEASE! If they had made them stoner reefer smoking crack addicts, maybe, because that would be the only way to explain why they didn't see them.
Even my 13 year old said the "'Bots were tight, chicks were hot, but this is one I want to get on DVD when it comes out."

How can you hate Transformers? If you've watched the cartoons and then the Beast Wars 3D animated series, how could you possibly hate Transformers? Sure, it's not gonna' win any Oscars but c'mon...it had story, it had action, it had sweet, oh so sweet, graphics....Shia's acting was good, and the voiceovers were nicely done for the robots.
I'm probably not going to get Best Answer for this but seriously, Transformers just beat every other summer flick for 2007 and hating it is just...wrong! What more can you expect from a fleet of giant f**kin' robots that transform into our vehicles? The movie was so much fun...I'm gonna' watch it again, and probably for the third time even!

Why do you have got to recognize one unhealthy factor approximately both film? It is apparent that you just favored the ones films, why do you wish to argue approximately them with the individuals who did not like them? But, it is your query, I'll attempt to reply. First of all movement is my favourite style and love to be entertained the quality manner viable, and that is why I did not like both of the ones films. sure, Transformers was once extra approximately People than truthfully Transformers and it had like probably quarter-hour of cool robotic fights, but it surely a minimum of had a plot. It HAD a plot. Rise of the Fallen I are not able to even name an movement film, it is a motion film, there is a change. Robots and individuals going for walks from side to side, randomly going for walks into each and every different, going for walks round a few extra to give up the Rise of the Fallen, whose tale is undeveloped, just about non-existent and in case you have a non-existent tale of your major movement style antagonist & hence undeveloped motivation and response of you protagonist, you might have a motion film, now not an movement one. however you requested for one million factor, adequate - no storytelling & no constant movement sequences, simply random photos and scenes thrown AT you. Termination four. oh, I have no idea wherein even begin - this is a BAD submit-apocalyptic film. I hate to feel it bears the wonderful Terminator title. The Terminator being the primary fine movement film I noticed (elderly nine or eight) and that means plenty to me, staying one of the vital finest films ever, so Terminator four I took quite individual. It was once even worse than Terminator three. The most effective well factor approximately three - TX vs. The Terminator combat, the one well factor approximately four - the laptop pondering he is human. But all they needed to say approximately that was once within the trailer, so the trailer was once higher than the complete film - beacuse it did not have pointless going for walks, capturing and blowing matters up the film had. I additionally did not like cinematography - it is improtant to me. one million factor - draggy, stupid empty tale. P.S. I did not recognize you have been so passionate approximately this, if I knew I'd answer within the extra main points. I love while individuals are quite passionate approximately films. I am like that too. And it is fine to understand that any one likes those films, each film merits to be cherished by means of a minimum of one individual. I recognize a man who is loopy approximately Transformers and Michael Bay is his fav. director ever. I do not argue lol.
