Where would you recommend? We are looking for somewhere on the Florida panhandle or in the Gulf Shore, AL area. We are planning to spend 4 or 5 nights and would like to find a condo to rent on the beach. Any recommendations of a rental company to use would also be appreciated.

Any where on the Emerald coast from Panama City Beach to Gulf Shores is good,Personally I stay at Holiday Inn Sunspree in Panama City.
But check out;
"thebeachlovers beach.com"
"beachview.com"
"gulfshores.com"
"bamabeachcams.com"
These have some good info on these areas and accommodations.

A couple of weeks ago I visited Cape San Blas on the Florida Gulf coast. The beach was beautiful powder white sand and the water was clear turquoise blue. The prettiest beach I have ever seen and I am a Florida native. We rented a 2 bedroom beach house from a company called Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals. The name of the house we stayed in is Cancun Cottage but they have several others to choose from. Their website is www.coastaljoevacationrentals.com. There are only 2 restaurants on the Cape but that was ok with us because the house had a complete kitchen so we could cook or use the grill. There were almost no people on the beach so it was wonderful!

If you want a quiet, peaceful vacation, head to Orange Beach or Gulf Shores, Alabama. We stayed in Orange Beach last August and it was so relaxing! We're going back to Gulf Shores next month. I stay away from rental companies because they have so many fees involved. Go to www.vrbo.com and find condos for rent by owners. I've never been disappointed when using this.

I would try Destin or San Destin if you are into nightlife, eating out, shopping, etc. But, if you are looking for a more laid back, relaxing pace definitely go for Seaside. If you've ever seen the movie, the Truman Show with Jim Carrey where he doesn't know his entire life is a TV show, it was filmed there so it's this idealic community. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice restaurants, I think there was a wine festival the weekend we were there, and a little shopping, but not as commercial.
