If my memory serves me right, two of the bombers were caught while they were burning. Technically, these two who were trapped inside the vehicle in Glasgow during that time were actually the suicide bombers. If it was not for the rescue teams, then maybe they died

The others,I believe, may be called the brains behind the operation.

Suicide bombers are usually referred to terrorists who willingly sacrifice themselves for their 'cause'. These people prefer to die than actually get caught or arrested.

In my opinion, suicide bombers can still be a valid word for the media to in the UK attacks because because the authorities botched up their attempt to commit suicide while killing others.

Suicide bombers will also do repeatedly until they reach their goal.

Well, there are the references to the war in Iraq and it may appear that every attempt there after has been placed in the same basket of cases. It would appear that the well educated you speak of have used their education as a front passport. How else could they have gained the trust needed to enter a society. There are too many in the world who have been blind to the facts about the possible reasons why the higher education has become a key to unlock and walk through the most sensitive areas of social life and to make changes , some may do the right thing for the call, but how can you know a wolf has been in hiding for that very moment to leap. When the chickens in the hen house get nervous, there is usually a good reason, which leads to another view, Who is in deed guarding the house, the house being the society and inner structures. I think we are learning and taking the blindfold of trust to a different level.

A normal reaction by the press who use such platitudes.
Also : Winter of Discontent, 9/11, Level Playing Field, Fast Track, On Board, Scedule instead of Schedule etc.
Third rate journalism by people who do not have a command of the English language and copy American jargon.
Better to listen to Radio 4.

As for the intelligent well educated people you refer to, we should all ask ourselves one question.
What would our reaction be if we were working in another country and we witnessed Britain and other parts of Europe ravaged by the government of that country?
Would we stand by and watch it happen or take some form of action?
Think before you answer!

Well apparently the Glasgow bombers left suicide notes, and the one who got burnt was supposed to have doused himself after the car crashed, so it's possible they were suicide bombers - just not very good ones.

By all accounts though the bombs in London were set to go off by detonators, so in that case they were obviously not suicide bombers. Maybe the Glasgow bombers decided to try it a different way after the **** up in London.

I am afraid you have mis-understood the intentions of these people.

They did in fact intend to die. Their religious belief is that if they die in such an episode, then they are guaranteed to go to a glorious place.

To the other who were not directly involved in driving the vehicle, it is almsot as great a glory to assist the "Suicide Bombers" to complete their task.

You do not purposely crash a vehicle loaded with gas and petroleum into a building and expect to live.

It would appear it was their incompetence is the only reason they did not die and sheer good luck that hundreds of innocent people did not join them.

I think the Glasgow bombers had the virgins in their sites. I don't think I'd have driven a car into the side of an Airport carrying several gas cylinders and have expected to live - hence the term 'suicide bombers' !

Terrorist, suicide bomber, nutter, extremist.

Call them what you like, we all know what they mean.

These people might be doctors but thats where the intelligence stops. How could you possibly load a car with petrol and gas canisters, but not manage to blow it up, that is fvcking stupid. Surely it would be harder to stop it blowing up?

Educated perhaps but intelligent? And I don't know maybe pouring petrol on oneself while on fire might lead someone to believe that suicide was the intention.

Does "Attempted Suicide Bombers" meet your approval?

Edit: If it weren't tasteless, that'd make a good band name, huh?
