This is my first period, and it has lasted 7 days so far. Is this normal?

When I had my very first period, it lasted 13 days. I was soooo sick. My mom thought I was pregnant or something. I eventually went to the doctor, turns out I had a cyst and etc. After everything was taken care of, my cycle runs 4 days MAX now.
My aunts told me - prior to menstruation - that the number of days I start with will be the SAME number I continue to have month after month. NOT TRUE!
There is nothing "abnormal" about a 7 day cycle. If you feel there's a problem or if it gets worse, then contact your primary care physician. Good Luck & welcome to "Womanhood" !

First periods are weird. it sounds completely normal (an average period is 3-7 days). Your periods will be irregular for the first year or 2. Don't worry. Eventually they will regulate.

Yes. 7 days is a full cycle.
I guess congratulations are in order lol... maybe... But in truth I feel sorry for you!!! :D Cuz now you will have that problem every month for the next 40 plus years!!! Read up from health food books on how to eliminate the cramping and bloating. You will also get certain cravings during that time... or just before. HAVE FUN!!! lol

Yea, don't worry. But if you are really concerned then maybe you should talk to your doctor, mother, sister, teacher, or another adult that you trust. Don't worry, everything is going to be okay. Good luck!

Yes, it will be sporadic and vary for a while, then settle into more of a predictable pattern. You're fine.

yeah, 3-7 days is normal, your first one tends to be longer though......
