if a repairs list is drawn up for repairs required in my flat, do i have the right to ask for a signature or a receipt for the list by the person i hand it to in the council housing office. i need proof to cover myself that these things have been reported, any help appreciated guys

If I was the cOuncil officer I would refuse to give a receipt. I can remember when I worked for a Company and a solicitor served a County Court Summons on us he was told to go away and swear an afidavit of service the same as the rest of us had to do. So in this case recorded delivery is the best way. I be they will try to find a way of saying they did not get it even then

You need to send a letter recorded delivery to the council. They will have to sign for it- it can be tracked on the internet yourself via Royal Mail Website- it will cost you £1.04. Its the only way of ensuring delivery and signature.

Tis best to get them to list all the work and sign it so all the work gets carried out without any hassles from ure housing office..
