is it free to download? pls help me..

there is a software package called Maple which is really good ... but its not free =(

it does everything - solves equations, plots graphs, finds stationary points, differentiates, integrates, factorizes etc etc. It even does matrices and complex numbers.

I don't know how much it costs but i got a copy off my friend and its a HUGE file so it can't really be sent over the net (i got it on cd)

As far as i know there aren't any free programs out there so for the moment Yahoo Answers would be one of your best tools for explanations and help when at home.

The best software for math problems is already available to you. It's in your head. Do the math. Its most rewarding, There are few joys that match solving the math problem yourself!!

Only if you have very simple problems (like the Google toolbar that does math). Otherwise you have to understand the problem in order to state it for the software.

Ther are many softwares that can solve equations e.g.

MATLAB (not free ware you have to buy license)(good for numerical computations)
MAPLE (good for analytical solving)
EES (Engineering Equation Solver)
and so

There is a program calles MATLAB. it can solve for the unknown in the equation. I am not sure if it is a freeware. Just try to search for it.
