It has not been redeemable in gold since 1933. The note sells for around $100 in grade fine and around $400 in grade extra fine. The values are from a price guide and most dealers try to sell under it. They would also pay at least 40% less.

Less then 20 dollars, paper is worth nothing, lint very close to nothing, Dye ....pretty much the same as lint. The only thing that even adds value to it is the fact that is very old, probably worth 3 dollars. You see, the reason why it is worth nearly nothing is that the bill is no longer backed by the gold standard. The bankers no longer recognize the bill as a promissory note of the gold in the banks, Thus its initial priceing has a dramatic drop. This is why nobody wanted the banks in America to begin with lol, paper money is just a way for the bankers to keep the real wealth "Gold" to themselves, why'll only giving the common people promissory notes of the gold backed in the banks....but not the actual gold. All the why'll they put ya in debt and then take your real wealth "land" .... Anyway yes it is not worth much at all. It would be different if it where a coin.. made of copper gold silver anything, but not paper that is no longer recognized as a bill...So it is just a aged piece of paper.

Well I can tell you you won't get gold for it today. You also can't get an accurate appraisal when people can't see what they're appraising. Take it to a collector or an antiques dealer for a more accurate appraisal.

It is worth over $80, but if you were to sale it and you were looking to get the best money for it you should try to find someone who is a collector. ^_^
