At first glance it certainly seems like it should work. Probably all computers that use PC2700 memory can use a 1GB memory module. However, there are some that have compatibility issues with certain types of chip construction. It's an issue with how much memory is on a given chip and how many chips are on the memory module. If you're planning to buy this memory from some place like eBay, where you won't get a guarantee for compatibility, I would recommend you don't do that. The site mentioned above and many others can tell you exactly what memory you need. See these, among others:

http://www.memory.com/

Mostly just buy it anywhere they have a guarantee for compatility, which is most anywhere but eBay.

As the new memory is the same type (PC2700) and speed (DDR333), they should be interchangable. But as you did not list the model of the PC, we can not tell if the PC itself might have a limit on how much RAM it con use. But with 333, you should be able to 1 GB.
