Get out the phone book and start looking for whatever social service agencies your area has.

Women's shelters might be the best place to start. Even if you don't need to move into a shelter right this minute, they may be able to direct you to other agencies that could help you.

I live in NY, and in my area we have programs for "displaced homemakers". They help women get jobs, housing, etc. I hope you can find something similar.

I'm not sure how disabled your daughter is. But you may be able to find agencies that can also help her get the life skills she needs to eventually support herself. It's not something we like to think about, but you won't always be here. What will she do once you're gone? You both need lots of help - don't put it off. Good luck to you.

Call some domestic violence shelters or homeless shelters to see if they can give you references to community service centers.
