Which one? I have a work laptop that usually gets rebooted a couple times a day. I have a home laptop that might get rebooted every other day. I have a desktop that I use as a file storage server that has not been reboot in at least a year.
I manage an gateway server at work which has not been rebooted since we installed it in 1991. (Yes, it is a dinosaur - IBM mircochannel 80). It is a terminal server, so it does not require anything more powerful. The plant in which it runs is slated to close at the end of 2008. It will probably stay running until then.
Usually, it is recommended that a computer be rebooted once a week to allow any new MS updates to complete their installation, clear temp files and to clear the RAM memory. Otherwise the computer will begin to run slower and slower.

My Cousin works with Microsoft Windows XP Tech support.
He tells me of a Customer who Hadn't switched off his computer for almost 3.5 Years since he bought it.
The customer said that he used The button on Monitor to switch it ON/OFF.
Meant he never ever switched off his CPU but just the MONITOR.
Cheers!

its better to keep the computer on 24 h/ day, simply because when the computer is on it gets a little heated, and internal parts and boeards get a little expanded. so when you turn it of it shrinks again, and the same again and again.
so keep it on all the time and restart it every now and then to get it faster, and if you dont want t5o restart, kill the applications that are stuck and continue working.
this way you get your computer living longer;)
