I'm Japanese and have lived in Toronto and Quebec Canada for my university. People there are very friendly and I made many friends. I saw racism in Canada only one time. Racism is in everywhere.

Please be proud of yourself and make fun of stupid racist people.

Oh My Goodness, you wont have any trouble in Canada. My brother in law is black and my nephews are mixed. They have had nothing but respect here. Sure there are isolated incidents but nothing at all to worry about. My neighbour on my right mixed we have spoken we love that couple. There are multicultural people all over Canada. I assume you are probably moving to toronto. That province has the highest crime rate but the rest of Canada takes pride in acceptance and tolerance. So welcome to Canada and if you need any help email me.

Good God woman the Canadians aren't produced out of a mold, you know- there are good and bad Canadians just as there are good and bad Brits, Yanks, and Heaven Knows who else. Stop worrying about the colour of your skin and the problem, for you and those around you, vanishes instantly.
Hope you have a good time and do well.

Well there are racists everywhere.

What part of canada are you going to?
A rural part or S.E. Ontario?

Some Canadians are racists, some are not, not all canadians are the same.

If things don't go right, make a Canada joke!

I am Canadian and you have nothing to worry about. It is rare to hear any comments along any racial lines. Maybe in backwoods communities. All our larger centres are multicultural.

Don't worry... Canadians segregate everyone, black or not. French speakers are the worst

The wife told me to star this one and let someone answer it on our contact list. Neither one of us know how you would be treated in Canada. We want to go there but have never been.
