You might be hearing the one tied into the AC kicking in with the compressor.

Let the car sit over night and remove the radatior cap if full check the coolant tank above the minium mark ok. Now start and drive the car full warmed up turn off the ac and stop watch how frequently the fan runs. A/C compressor condencer fan same as radatior will cycle like you say with the compressor. A/C turned off however... Note you might have to turn off the a/c and turn off the car then restart the car to make the compressor shut off. Some brilliant engineer idea to keep the compressor lubricated, keep it taking power from the belts too. Then drive by the service department and ask is this normal can you hook up the diagnosis computer and see if the cooling fans are cycling properly and turn on temp and turn off temp are normal

either your car is too hot or your radiator is broken.
In the former case, check your coolant level. if it is below the min mark, fill it. In the latter case, have your radiator and coolant system checked.

might be because of hot wheather so the engine would be more hotter than usual!!!!
