I suspect the company that I work for is planning on relocating. I also have reason to believe that instead of placing me in another position at the same branch (I am unable to relocate with them because of personal reasons) they are going to offer me an amount of money to leave the company. What is the legal amount I am allowed to ask for?

Ok, so if I am not legally allowed to make any claims - is it ok for a company to just get up and leave and and just like that I am out of a job? Surely that isn't fair?! And am I really suppose to just sit here and be happy that they are getting away with doing this (They have been planinngin this for months now and haven't even officially inform me - I've heard it all from other employees)

as you were told, this is a matter of personal preference. If the company offers you anything consider yourself lucky.

There isn't a legal amount you can ask for. The company will usually offer severents pay and any unused time to employees. When my mom's company closed after her working there 17 years, they gave her a week of severents pay for every year and her two weeks vacation time.

Nothing. It is not an issue covered by law. If you are in the US, you can file for unemployment compensation.
