Emo what ?

What is "emo"?
i do not understand this concept of being emo.

Emo is a kind of subculture now; the term "emo" came form emotional hardcore, a type of music that came our of hardcore.

Now, its a fashion trend. Just google images "emo", and you'll see a repititve style.

Emo and people who consider themselves emo have been associated with "cutting", a form of self harm, and being depressed and emotional [hence 'emo'] all the time, although I would say most people who are 'emo' today are doing it for the style and are probably not cutters or depressed.

The Emo style has been ridiculed enormously by popular culture, and has even been compared to the "goth" trend in the 90's, although goth and emo are two very different things; goth of the 90's was pretty much a poseur thing [real goth happened on the 80's], and the only thing those two [emo and the mopey poseur goth] can be linked is by the usual emotional personality of the individuals in the subculture.

All in all, its just some fashion trend that will blow over in a year or two until some other ridiculos teenage fad comes in.

I'm emo/goth sure there's a change and I'm a mixture of each... My dad calls me emish, I'm looking forward to that to capture on haha... Emos are fine the form rocks in conjunction with the style in track and surely emo is created by way of difficult lives or pasts nonetheless, this does not imply we're consistently unhappy and depressed we do smile!!

Tarns: Emo actually means emotional and is a type of music but ppl hav now called ppl who dress in black and say bad things about themselves emo eg. I wanna die!!!
Also if you hav your fringe in a position over your eyes you are automatically called emo which is NOT i repeat NOT actually being emo so all those ppl who hav been put down for wearing black clothes dont beleive a word anyone says trust me im used to it!!!!!

from wot i have found out it is not a flightless bird but a sort of gay goth type person who crys a lot and cuts itself,oh and they like emotional music???????????????Like is that not the idea of music anyway,to stir the emotions?I dont no what 1 looks like,i imagine it is a media and marketing term like punk,chav,hoodie etc
