I think you're confusing "tycoon" with "buffoon." Michael Jackson left millions in unpaid debts in this country and hardly has sufficient wealth to be considered anything near tycoon status. Additionally, I've not heard about all these "tycoons" accepting Islam - and I really don't think you want to talk about flaws in a religion, especially when Islam is a major flaw within itself.

When the President of Sony offered Michael Jackson a $50 million record deal for his BAD LP, Michael toyed with converting to Judiasm - because Sony is owned by a Jewish consortium. How convenient.

Now that Michael has been given respite in Dubai after coping with being acquitted of child molestation, he's thinking of aligning himself with Islam. He was paid $1 million by the Sultan of Brunei to sing at a private function earlier this year. Do you think perhaps that influenced Michael's decision to *convert* to Islam?
How very opportunistic of him.

Michael Jackson is a cunning marketeer.
Michael becoming a *Muslim* is just an example of the many flights of fleeting fancy he has when things are going well with him. Flirting with Islam for Michael would be a TEMPORARY FUND RAISING EXERCISE to re-establish his flailing cult status.

If Muslims sponsor his next project, Michael will hustle every Muslim he meets for money and feign interest in Islam just to sweeten the deal....

Michael would NEVER really convert to Islam - his mother, Katharine, is a devout JEHOVAH'S WITNESS and he'd never so openly disrespect his mothers' religious faith in Jesus Christ by bowing to Allah.

Just to get the obvious out of the way - a) MJ isn't a "Tycoon", he is/was an entertainer. b) Why is this in L,G,B&T? c) Not a fantastic example of a modle christian, our Jacko.

Anyhow - people are known to change faith from time to time - perhaps there's something in Muslim theology that spoke to him, hence the change.

He is no tycoon. Name some other "tycoons" who are converting. Most tycoons are probably atheist. Tycoons tend to step on people to the top.

I think Michael Jackson leaving Christianity (He was a Jehovah's Witness which is only Quasi-Christian anyway) is not so much proof of flaws in Christianity as the lack of them.

I wonder if Michael Jackson would be any better off changing his religion. He's changed so many things about him anyway.
