Discovery is based on the premise of a find or finding something that already exists; while an invention is something designed, constructed or manufactured by an individual.

You discover something that was always there, just not known about, like gravity or planetary motion. You invent something like the automobile or the computer even if the invention is based on a discovery or a progression from someone else's idea.

In extremely simple terms you Discover when something which exists is not known, where as you Invent when you know something can exist if we make it.
For eg. Person who discovered fire knew that it exists but just found the means to provide/replicate it. Whereas the person who invented heater would have known that something of that sorts can exist so he invented it.
If we go to a jungle and find an apeman it would be a discovery, whereas if we provide means to develop somebody into an apeman it would be termed as Invention.

DISCOVER
Discovery is finding something new for the world which already exists in nature.
Eg:Raman discovered that light was made up of seven colours.
INVENT
To invent is to develop something new by using material known to others.
Eg;Edison invented the electric bulb

Invention is the one which you find out newly which was not existing earlier

discovery relates to science as it is a new one to discovered.but invention on the other hand is inventing a palce or a thing that already exists but so far none has invented.eg:colombus invented west indie islands and americo wesbuki invented america.

discover means finding out new thing witch is exist no body knows before. invention means find out something new which is not exist and bring forward
example discovering new spices of animals, new planets,etc.

When you invent something, you create or design something new.
When you discover something, you find something that already exists.
For eg, bulb and computer were invented. Whereas, planets and penguins were discovered.
